Singapore Non-Oil Domestic Exports Surge 12.4%

(RTTNews) - Singapore's non-oil domestic exports grew at the fastest pace in nine months in April, data from Enterprise Singapore showed Friday.

Non-oil domestic exports grew 12.4 percent year-over-year in April, faster than the 5.4 percent rise in the previous month. Meanwhile, economists were looking for a slower increase of 4.0 percent.

Exports of electronic products grew 23.5 percent in April from last year, much faster than the 12.2 percent rise a month ago. Similarly, the annual growth in shipments of non-electronic products accelerated to 9.3 percent from 3.7 percent.

PCs, ICs, and disk media products expanded by 124.3 percent, 23.3 percent, and 33.0 percent, respectively, contributing the most to the expansion in electronic NODX, the agency said.
