Romania Trade Deficit Widens In November
(RTTNews) - Romania's foreign trade deficit increased in November from a year ago, as imports grew faster than exports, figures from the National Institute of Statistics showed Monday.
The trade deficit widened to EUR 783.6 million in November from EUR 438.4 million in the corresponding month last year. In October, the shortfall was EUR 877.2 million.
Exports climbed 1.8 percent year-over-year in November and imports surged by 8.4 percent.
On a monthly basis, both exports and imports declined by 4.8 percent and 5.7 percent, respectively in November.
In the January to November period, total trade deficit of the country was EUR 7.2 billion versus EUR 5.3 billion in the same period of the preceding year.
