Romania Retail Sales Growth Improves For Fourth Month
(RTTNews) - Romania's retail sales growth quickened for the fourth consecutive month in September, figures from the National Institute of Statistics showed Tuesday.
Retail sales, excluding automobile trade grew a seasonally and working-day-adjusted 10.9 percent year-over-year in September, faster than the 8.6 percent climb in August, which was revised from 8.0 percent. In July, sales had risen 8.5 percent.
Sales of food, beverages and tobacco jumped 27.3 percent annually in September and that for non-food products went up by 3.8 percent.
On a monthly basis, retail sales rose at a faster pace of 1.7 percent in September, following 0.3 percent increase in the prior month. It was the fourth consecutive monthly rise.
